Many students from private schools were selected in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Hazaribagh, facts will come out in the investigation.

Arif, Hazaribagh:

There is news from Hazaribagh District Education Department about irregularities in the selection process of students in class six of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya. It has been claimed that out of 68, more than a dozen students have been selected wrongly. Every year, enrollment of students in the current session is done through the list prepared through the entrance examination process. On behalf of the District Education Officer (DEO) office, all the Block Education Extension Officers (BEEOs) are responsible for conducting the entrance examination and completing it. In the session 2023-24, 68 students have been selected across the district. There have been irregularities in the selection of students at some centres. According to the rules, the provision of enrollment in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya is fixed for the students studying in government schools after passing the entrance examination.

By colluding in this process, students belonging to affluent families studying in more than a dozen private schools were first included in the entrance examination. Later, after better results (passing the entrance exam), the list of all the students was sent to Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya in a sealed manner. After seeing the list verified first by BEEO and then by DEO office, students have been enrolled in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya. On this, many people have demanded DC Nancy Sahay to investigate and expose the racket in the name of entrance examination. People have claimed that after investigation a bigger racket will be exposed. Many education officers have neglected to identify the students before the commission. It has even been said that the game of including private school students in the entrance examination of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya has been going on for a long time. Many teachers are involving their children in this game and teaching in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya. Many people have said that they have proof of this. Shocking facts will come to light when an impartial investigation is conducted in this regard.

There is no government teacher in Edla Upgraded High School for seven years: Question has been raised on becoming the entrance examination center of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya in Edla Upgraded High School of Katkamsandi block. To conduct peaceful and morality-free examinations, all examination centers are to be set up in the district headquarters as per rules. Ignoring the rules, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Entrance Examination Center has been made several times in Edla, the only upgraded middle school located in a remote area (about 30 kilometers away from the district headquarters). Let us tell you that the school was opened in 1962. After the retirement of teacher Banshi Ram Dangi in 2016, Para teacher Shyamdev Yadav became the in-charge headmaster. Shyamdev Yadav, who has a domineering nature, has been the in-charge headmaster for seven consecutive years. Creates hurdles in posting of government teachers in schools. So far, more than two dozen students from this school have been successful in the Navodaya Vidyalaya entrance examination. People claim that a game is being played to make students of private schools appear in the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya entrance examination by pretending that they are studying in a government school and pass it.

Free education to students:

The only district level Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya run by the Central Government is located in Bonga of Ichak block. Students studying in government schools, if selected in class 6, get free education based on CBSE pattern of high quality (like private schools) till class 12. All the students get the facility of accommodation, food, purchase of teaching material and other necessary things (which a parent from a poor family does not have) while taking education. Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya in Hazaribagh was established in 1996. For 28 years, entrance examination for a fixed seat (class six) has been held in all 16 blocks of the district.
