
Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi reached the Golden Temple on Tuesday for the second consecutive day and served langar. After reaching the langar room, Gandhi served by peeling vegetables and then washing utensils.

The Congress leader had a blue scarf tied on his head and also served langar to the devotees. Later he recited langar while sitting on the ground.

Rahul spent most of his time in langar. After reaching Amritsar, Gandhi went to the Golden Temple on Monday. He served the devotees by giving water and cleaning utensils.

Rahul had also heard Shabad Kirtan. Gandhi also took part in the traditional ritual palanquin service, the closing ceremony in which the Guru Granth Sahib is taken to the Akal Takht for sukhasana.

Punjab State Congress President Amarinder Singh Raja Wadding had said on Monday that Gandhi had come on a personal visit to the Golden Temple.

Earlier, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had also come to the Golden Temple in Amritsar on Monday for prayers.

Covering his head with a blue cloth, the former Congress president paid obeisance in the sanctum sanctorum of the Golden Temple.

After the prayers, he went to Akal Takht, the highest religious institution of the Sikhs, and also served by cleaning the water utensils used by the devotees.

Punjab Congress chief Amarinder Singh Raja Wadding said that Rahul Gandhi is on a personal tour of the city. Wadding said that Rahul Gandhi has come to Amritsar Sahib to pay obeisance at Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib.

Rahul’s visit to Punjab is taking place at a time when there is a dispute between Punjab Congress and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) after the arrest of party MLA Sukhpal Singh Khaira in the 2015 drug case. Some party leaders are also opposing the alliance with AAP in Punjab for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
