Young man drowned during liquor raid, people angry over his death set fire to Garhan police station

Muzaffarpur/ Bochahan. On Wednesday evening, police raided Rampur Jaipal village of Garhan police station area on information about liquor. During this time two youths jumped into the village pond. One died due to drowning. Angered by this, they reached the police station with the dead body on Wednesday night. During this time some miscreants set fire to the police station. Also threw stones at the police. They broke the lock of the police station gate and entered inside. Rescued Dharmendra Kumar who was in distress. They beat up the watchman and soldiers and vandalized the barracks. Two dozen bikes and two four-wheelers parked in the police station were set on fire. The house adjacent to the police station has also been damaged by the fire.

The fire was brought under control with the help of fire brigade.

On hearing the arrival of the police, everyone ran away. As soon as information about the incident was received, SSP Rakesh Kumar, City SP Arvind Pratap Singh, City ASP Awadhesh Dixit and police from many police stations including Bochahan, Ahiyapur, Sadar, Brahmapura, Nagar, Mithanpura, Hathori, Rampurhari, Gaighat, Beniabad reached the spot. Fire Brigade The fire was brought under control with the help of Ki. Till late night, police from several police stations including senior officers were present at the spot.

Elder brother arrested with liquor, two had jumped into the pond

Regarding the incident, SSP said that on Wednesday, Garhan police station had received information about liquor. After which the police reached Rampur Jaipal village. Police arrested Kapal Rai’s son Dharmendra Kumar with liquor. After this, after seeing the police, two youths jumped into the nearby pond. A young man swam away. While a young man drowned. He was identified as Jitendra Kumar alias Chunchun, 18 year old son of Kapal Rai. After much effort his body was taken out from the pond.

Stones pelted during traffic jam at Garhan Chowk

People became angry with the incident and took the dead body to the police station. Police tried to stop the crowd near Garhan Chowk. During this time people blocked Garhan Chowk for some time. The crowd pelted stones at the police, due to which the police personnel fled from the spot. After this the crowd reached the police station with the dead body.

SSP Rakesh Kumar said that during the police raid, two youths drowned in a puddle while trying to escape. One drowned. After the dead body was found, angry people reached the police station and set fire to the vehicles kept in the police station. The miscreants are being identified. Strict action will be taken.
