A large number of workers from India go to Saudi Arabia for employment. The government there has made a new rule for their interests.

These announcements have been made to protect the workers going to Saudi and to improve labor employment.

Saudi Arabia has announced new rules and fixed the minimum age for domestic workers at 21 years.

The dues of workers to the employer will now be considered as first class loan. This means that now the employer will have to give priority to the rights of the workers.

The worker will have to be given a weekly holiday of 24 hours one day a week. Besides this, work cannot be done for more than 10 hours a day.

The employing company or person will have to give complete information about salary, payment methods, rights-responsibilities, working hours and holidays to the worker in the contract.

The company can no longer retain the worker’s passport. Also, the employer will have to provide accommodation and food to the worker.

According to the new rule, workers seeking employment will be required to respect Islamic principles and follow Saudi laws and social traditions.
