Similarly, the salary of higher secondary teachers (class 9 and 10) is Rs 31 thousand and that of two teachers is Rs 32 thousand. The big thing in this is that if the current salary of the employed teachers who have got the status of state employee is more than their pay grade, then they will also get the benefit of pay protection. This means that they will continue to receive their salary now and will later be adjusted in the next pay grade as per their preference.

If salary exceeds pay grade, teachers will get benefit of pay protection

According to the Bihar School Special Teacher Manual – 2023 issued by the Education Department, if the current salary of the employed teachers who have got the status of state employee is more than their pay grade, then they will also get the benefit of pay protection. This would simply mean that they will continue to receive their current salary. Later, they will be adjusted in the next pay grade as per their preference. This can be understood in this way that if there is an employed teacher in 2006, his salary will be more than the proposed salary of special teachers. In such a situation, their salary will not be according to the current grade, they will continue to get it as per the old grade.

Teachers will merge as a single cadre at the district level

Separate priority list will be prepared

A priority list of special teachers will be prepared at the district level. A separate priority list will be prepared subject wise for each category of teachers i.e. primary, middle, secondary and higher secondary. Criteria have been prepared for this. The local bodies are trained as teachers according to the norms, date of pay scale etc. Any other case not fitting the criteria will be decided by the DEO. In the rules, there is provision for the procedure for initiating departmental proceedings, punishment etc.
