Patna. The team of Commercial Tax Department took major action against moving vehicles. On the team’s radar, there were vehicles through which goods were being transported without permits (e-waybill). This special campaign ran from 9 pm on Saturday night to 9 am on Sunday in 31 districts of the state. During the investigation, a total of 172 vehicles were seized by the Commercial Tax Department on the basis of discrepancies in the required documents. Departmental Secretary cum Commissioner Dr. Pratima said that tax will be recovered from the owners of the seized vehicles by taking legal action. Action was taken against those vehicles and transporters through which goods worth more than the invoice were being transported without e-way bills or without valid documents.
40 teams of Commercial Tax Department took action in 31 districts
Inspection was done by four teams in Muzaffarpur district, three each in Purnia and Bhagalpur, two teams each in Gaya and Begusarai. Khagaria, Katihar, Kishanganj, Araria, Supaul, Saharsa, Madhepura, East Champaran, West Champaran, Sitamarhi, Lakhisarai. One team each was engaged in inspection work in Jamui, Munger, Aurangabad, Nawada, Kaimur, Rohtas, Jehanabad, Siwan, Saran, Gopalganj, Vaishali, Patna, Bhojpur, Buxar and Madhubani districts. 40 teams of Commercial Tax Department took action in 31 districts in which 93 officials were involved. The Commissioner said that the businessmen who will not be able to provide valid papers for the confiscated goods will have to pay a penalty of double the tax payable on their goods.
307 bundles of goods seized from Shramjeevi’s vehicle parcel in Rajgir
Commissioner cum Secretary said that on October 4 and 5, the vehicle parcel of Shramjeevi Express was checked at Rajgir railway station. In which a total of 307 bundles of goods without valid papers were seized. Action is being taken for recovery.

Commercial Tax Department seized 35 vehicles loaded with goods in two days
Here, according to the information received from Gaya, 35 vehicles laden with goods have been seized on various routes of Magadh division in two days in a special arrest campaign being run by the Commercial Tax Department. This information was given by KK Sinha (Administration), State Tax Additional Commissioner of Magadh Division. He told that as per the orders of State Tax Commissioner-cum-Secretary Dr. Pratima, mobile checking work was done on various main routes of Bihar from the night of 14th October to 9 am on 15th October. Under this, teams of IB and zonal officials were deployed on seven routes of the division.
Action taken at these places
Along with Dobhi, Rajauli and Karmanasha check post areas, the area of Amas Toll Plaza, Sasaram GT Road, Patna-Jehanabad Road and Kandi Nawada is included. A total of 35 vehicles were seized by these teams, which were mainly loaded with Aryan & Steel, cement, medicine, groceries, plastic goods, groundnuts, tobacco and others. The value of the seized goods is said to be worth crores of rupees which were being transported without valid documents. Fine will be collected by taking action on the seized goods as per rules.
