platform – cinema
This film is being promoted as a sequel to the T-Series banner film Yaariyan, released in 2014, but in reality this film is the Hindi remake of the successful Malayalam film Bangalore Diaries, released in 2014. This story of relationships is told here also through sisters and brothers. Although very few films are made on the relationship between brother and sister, this musical film makes a different attempt. The subject may be different but the screenplay and dialogues of the film have not been able to do justice to it. Instead of this, more work has been done on the sets, locations and costumes of the characters, due to which these friendships have become average.
The story carries the message of cousins by blood, friends by choice.
The story of the film is about three cousins Ladli (Divya), Shikhar (Meezaan) and Bajrang (Pearl), who are from Shimla but fate has brought them to Mumbai. Ladli’s marriage took place in Mumbai. There is everything in this marriage but not love. Shikhar is a bike racer, but his father banned him from bike racing and out of his love for him. He also reaches Mumbai to seek solace away from his family and Bajrang’s corporate job is in Mumbai. He too is struggling with the pain of heartbreak. How these three solve each other’s lives by becoming each other’s support system is the story ahead.
Advantages and disadvantages of the film
Talking about the story of the film, the film takes a lot of time to come to the main story, in the second half the film comes to the actual story, due to which the first half of the film has remained weak. This is the story of three cousins, but in the screenplay of the film, more importance has been given to Divya’s character and later Meezaan’s character. Pearl’s story has not got as much space as it needed. Many times the stories seem to get entangled with each other, which is the weakness of the screenplay. The screenplay has not focused on how the bond between the three cousins became so deep. There was a need to focus on this in the screenplay. The film picks up pace in the second half, the two climaxes in the beginning also add high points to the story, but in the end they do not come on screen effectively. The film has become a hit in many places. While watching the film, you are also surprised by its length. The songs and music of the film have become good. The high walls and the unfaithful you are remembered in it. The background music of the film has also become good. The camerawork of the film is also good. There was a need to work on communication.
Meezaan and Yash shine in acting
Talking about acting, this film is of T-Series banner, so Divya Khonsla Kumar will also be the face of the story. Even though he is the basis of the story, his acting has not been able to give the film the foundation it needed. His effort is good compared to his previous films, but he needs to work more on his acting. This cannot be denied. Meezaan Jaffrey’s acting definitely impresses. Pearl V Puri does justice to her character in this debut film. Yash Dasgupta and Anaswara’s acting is also good. Murali Sharma and Bhagyashree add different colors to the film with their acting. Rest of the characters have also proved themselves in their respective roles.
