You must have seen players from many countries always sitting on the ground and drinking water. This is because even in Ayurveda, drinking water while sitting has been said to be beneficial for health. But along with this, drinking water while sitting has also been said to be good in science and many of its benefits have been mentioned.

Drink water while sitting instead of standing as it is better absorbed by your body. Drink water sip by sip and never swallow water. To meet your daily quota of eight glasses of water, you do not need to drink 2-3 glasses of water at once. According to Ayurveda, water should be drunk in small sips and throughout the day. Drink warm or room temperature water.

Never drink cold water straight from the fridge because cold water reduces your digestive power. Use clay, copper or at least steel vessels to store water. Never drink running water. Always drink stored water only.

The best way to drink water to improve your digestion is to boil water and drink it. Try to drink warm water as soon as you wake up in the morning, this will clear all the dirt from your stomach.
