Bihar government is making efforts at many levels to develop the sports ecosystem in the state. In this series, sports coaches will now be hired on contract to enhance the sports talent of the players. These trainers will be given honorarium ranging from Rs 25 thousand to Rs 50 thousand. The minimum age of trainers has been fixed at 25 years and maximum 45 years. The Department of Art, Culture and Youth has invited applications from eligible trainers till November 23 to hire trainers on contract. A five-member committee has also been formed for scrutiny of the application.
Committee constituted for scrutiny of sports trainers
A scrutiny committee of five-member sports coaches has been constituted under the chairmanship of the Director of Student and Youth Welfare. Other members of the committee will be Joint Secretary of Art, Culture and Youth Department, Joint Secretary of Bihar State Sports Authority, Assistant Director of Sports, Student and Youth Welfare and Assistant Director of Youth Welfare as its member secretaries.
Qualification of trainers
Trainers should have minimum Intermediate pass in any stream. At the same time, as educational qualification, one should have passed Diploma in Sports Training from Netaji Subhash National Sports Training Institute, Post Graduate in Sports Training from Lakshmi Bai National Institute of Physical Education and 6 weeks certificate course in Sports Training from Sports Authority of India. Whereas those who have won medals in competitions while representing the state and nation in recognized sports of Olympic, Asian and Commonwealth Games and have experience of training work in recognized sports of these games will be given preference.
Teachers will be hired under day boarding scheme
In this regard, Additional Chief Secretary of Art, Culture and Youth Department, Harjot Kaur said that a day boarding scheme is being run to develop sports talent among the children of the state. For this, sports trainers will be hired on contract.
