Jamtara police caught interstate supplier from Posoi, handed him over to Asansol police station

Jamtara Police has arrested the interstate SIM supplier and handed him over to Bengal Police. It is said that SIM was purchased from the cyber thug gang of West Bengal and then delivered to other cyber accused. Jamtara police has arrested supplier Sarfaraz Ansari from Posoi village. After this he was handed over to Asansol Police. SP Animesh Naithani said that Asansol cyber police station had contacted Jamtara police. It was told that the cyber thugs caught in Bengal have revealed that the SIM which is supplied from Bengal, is given to Sarfaraz Ansari of Jamtara. To verify this, a team led by trainee DSP Chandrashekhar Kumar was sent to Asansol for questioning. During interrogation it was found that Sarfaraz Ansari of Jamtara used to get SIM from Bengal.

Sarfaraz, who bought SIM for Rs 1,000 from cyber gang of Bengal, arrested

Sarfaraz used to pay one thousand rupees to the cyber thug gang of Bengal in exchange for one SIM. On the basis of the case registered in Asansol, a raid was conducted in Posoi village of Jamtara and Sarfaraz Ansari was arrested and handed over to Bengal Police. He has been taken into judicial custody. SP said that investigation is going on in whatever crimes have been committed from the SIM of Bengal. Besides, in those cases also he will be taken on remand. Said that now the trend is being seen that earlier in case of cyber fraud, SIMs of Bengal were provided, but now apart from Bengal, SIMs of states like Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh etc. are also being provided. A team has been formed. Earlier, five SI level teams were formed and sent to Bengal, where verification of SIM holders was done at 101 places. Inquiries have also been done. Said that another team of 10 police officials is being sent to Bengal. This team will conduct raids at 200 places and verify them. A database is being prepared of all the SIM holders who have knowingly or unknowingly provided SIM to the cyber thug gang. If found guilty, legal action will also be taken.
