The 15th annual Sports Day was celebrated with great pomp on Thursday (November 9) at Manan Vidya Manrakhan Mahato School located in Booti Mod, Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand. School Principal Rekha Naidu told about the importance of sports. Chief guest Manoj Kumar, Secretary, Department of Tourism, Art, Culture, Sports and Youth Affairs, while addressing the children, said that whatever work you want to do, put your 100 percent in it. Success will kiss your feet. Jharkhand Government official Manoj Kumar advised the children to progress in sports as well as take advantage of the facilities provided by the government. He also told about government schemes. Different competitions were organized for children. Cap race, biscuit race, ball bucket, 100 meter, 200 meter, 400 meter relay race were organized. In this, students of the school from class Prep to class 12th participated enthusiastically. 50 children also performed the state’s heritage Santali dance. Pot balancing and 400 meter race was also organized for the support staff working in the school. The three players who won all the games were awarded gold, silver and bronze medals. The remaining participants were given citations. NCC cadets performed march past and band display. The program started with the flag hoisting and ended with the national anthem.
