8 thousand posts of doctors are vacant in Bihar, Health Minister said this in the House regarding the appointment

MLA raised the issue of immediate reinstatement of doctors on vacant posts in state hospitals, appointment of Gynecologist and Obstetrician doctors in Community Health Center Agiaon, Gadhani and Charpokhari, appointment of dresser and compounder including eye, bone and dental doctors in Sadar Hospital. Manoj Manzil raised the issue strongly on Friday, the last day of the assembly session. The MLA said that I have sent issues related to the health department to the department several times, but till date no action has been taken on it, which is very condemnable. Sir, this should be done quickly. So that the rural people can get good health facilities. When the MLA asked the government when it would be fulfilled. So the Health Minister replied that the appointment of doctors and health workers is under process. These vacant posts will be filled soon.

One doctor for every 22 thousand population in Bihar

The MLA, through his short notice question, raised the issue of immediate reinstatement of doctors and health workers in view of the acute shortage in the state. The MLA said that there is a big gap in the population-doctor ratio in the state. There is one doctor for a population of 22 thousand. Whereas according to the standard there should be one doctor for every 1000 population. 21,755 posts of doctors have been created in Bihar. Out of which 13,845 are employed. In which 10,929 are regular/permanent and 2916 are employed on contract. Still, the posts of about 8 thousand doctors are lying vacant. The total population of Bihar is 13 crore 7 lakh 25 thousand. For which 1 lakh 30 thousand doctors are needed. Which the government should fill immediately. Recently, the Deputy Chief Minister of the state had said that in the recruitment of 1.5 lakh in the state, there are posts of para staff along with doctors and nurses.

There will be bumper reinstatement of doctors in Bihar

If health department officials are to be believed, these recruitments will be done under Bihar Health Service. Additional Chief Secretary of the department, Pratyaya Amrit said that due to shortage of doctors, there is difficulty in treating patients. Due to this, the decision of reinstatement has been taken. The Health Department has started the process to fill the vacant posts of doctors in Bihar. Under this, 1300 posts of assistant professors will be filled in various medical colleges of the state and a total of 3800 posts of doctors in general hospitals will be filled. The Health Department has sent a petition for recruitment to Bihar Public Commission. The department has requested the Commission to complete the reinstatement process of medical teachers soon. Bihar Public Service will soon issue notification for recruitment to 5000 posts of doctors.

There are 6629 posts of doctors, out of which doctors are working on 6391 posts.

The posts of doctors will be filled under Bihar Health Service. There are 6629 posts of General Doctor in the department, out of which doctors are working on 6391 posts. In such a situation, there will be recruitment on 238 posts of General Doctors in the state. 5093 posts of Special Medical Officer are sanctioned, in which doctors are working on 1570 posts. There are 3523 posts lying vacant. A special team will be prepared to fill these posts. Dentists are also to be recruited in the state. A total of 586 posts are approved for dental in the state, out of which dentists are working on 523 posts. There are to be recruitment on 63 vacant posts.
